Asia is a diverse and fascinating continent. Many backpackers have already traveled to Southeast Asia, one or more of the countries Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, East Timor and Brunei. My first experience of Asia was the student exchange program to Kaohsiung, Taiwan, in 10th grade. This, initially, has been my motivator for all future travel. Leaving Europe, leaving the well-known, and diving into a foreign culture without speaking the language of the country was my first important experience.
